Sandy Hook is a city in Elliott County, Kentucky,  along the Little Sandy River. . It is the county seat of Elliott County.Sandy Hook is the hometown of late country music singer Keith Whitley. A statue of Whitley playing his guitar can be seen in the local cemetery, and a local street was renamed "Keith Whitley Boulevard." Whitley's body is buried in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee. Sandy Hook is a close drive to Grayson lake and Caverun Lake.

Rowan County

Rowan County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2010 census, the population was 23,333. Its county seat is Morehead. The county was created in 1856 from parts of Fleming and Morgan counties, and named after John Rowan, who represented Kentucky in the U.S. House and Senate.[3]According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 286 square miles (740 km2), of which 280 square miles (730 km2) is land and 6.5 square miles (17 km2) (2.3%) is water.[10] Its highest point is "Limestone Knob" at about 1,409 feet (429 m) above mean sea level.

Breathitt County

Breathitt County, located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in the Eastern Coal Field region.

The county seat is located at Jackson near the geographic center of the county on the North Fork of the Kentucky River. Other major waterways include the Middle Fork of the Kentucky River, Quicksand, Troublesome, Lost, and Frozen Creeks.

Breathitt County is today an important part of the Eastern Kentucky economy with timber and coal as the primary resources transported across a network of roadways including Highways 15, 30, and 1110 to all parts of the nation. Breathitt County is home to three colleges, five high schools and numerous grade schools and other educational facilities.
